The Preseason TopLaxRecruits Western Boys’ Rankings:
1. St. Ignatius Prep (CA) 16-4
After taking the WCAL title last spring, the Wildcats return a strong senior class. They open Friday at hone vs. San Ramon Valley.
2. Regis Jesuit (CO) 15-2
The Raiders start their run for another 5A state title on March 15th against contender Cherry Creek (CO).
3. Poway (CA) 17-3
The defending CIF San Diego Open Division champion Titans open up their season against Carlsbad (CA) on March 3rd.
4. Torrey Pines (CA) 17-3
The Falcons fell to Poway in the CIF San Diego Championship, but are returning a significant amount of impact players
5. Monte Vista 22-1 (CA)
The Mustangs (undefeated on the field last year when their only loss was due to an ineligible player) look to defend the CIF NCS Championship title. They open up Saturday against Bishop O’Dowd.
6. Bellevue (WA) 19-3
The Wolverines claimed the WA state title, edging Eastside Catholic (WA), 7-6. The will play Issaquah (WA) in their season opener March 17th.
7. Arapahoe (CO) 15-4
The Warriors will again challenge for a 5A title and play rival Mountain Vista (CO) March 17th in their season opener.
8. Loyola-Los Angeles (CA) 20-4
Taking the CIF Southern Section title last season, the Cubs will face Oak Park (CA) March 9th.
9. Corona Del Mar (CA) 20-2
After reaching the CIF Southern Section Finals, the Sea Kings look to start out strong vs Los Alamitos on March 4th.
10. Mountain Vista (CO) 16-2
The Eagles will again challenge for a Class 5A crown.
