The Preseason TopLaxRecruits Western Girls’ Rankings:
1. Colorado Academy (CO) 15-0 (last year’s records)
The Mustangs won their second straight CHSAA title last year and open the year as a favorite to win a third.
2. Mater Dei (CA) 21-0
The Monarchs, champions of the Southern Section LA/OC last year, have a strong senior class. They open their season Monday against San Juan Hills (CA)
3. St. Ignatius Prep (CA) 17-5
The Wildcats claimed the WCAL championship title last year and will play Carondelet (CA) March 8 in their opener.
4. Cherry Creek (CO) 15-1.
After losing to Colorado Academy in a state final heartbreaker to Colorado Academy, 9-8, The Lady Bruins will again be a state contender.
5. Torrey Pines (CA) 20-2
The Falcons look to defend their CIF Open San Diego Championship, opening their season against San Dieguito Academy (CA) on March 7.
6. Novato (CA) 24-0
The NCS Division I title champs enter the season on a 31-game win streak.
7. Chaparral (AZ) 18-0
Coming off the Arizona State Championship title, The Fireballs will open vs. state runner-up Pinnacle this Wednesday.
8. Eastside Catholic (WA) 15-0
The Crusaders look to go back to back for the Washington State Championship title, facing Overlake March 15th in their opener.
9. California High (CA) 20-1
The Grizzlies will contend for a North Coast Section Division 1 title.
10. Mullen (CO) 13-4
The Mustangs will face off against Wheat Ridge (CO) for their first game March 10th.
