TopLaxRecruits.com, Posted 1/11/17
From Press Release

Summit Elite, a fast-growing elite girls’ national team from Denver Summit, is hosting a Lacrosse Prospect Clinic on Saturday, Feb. 11 in Chicago that will feature instruction from numerous Division I and Division III coaches.summit

Coaches and staff from Central Michigan University, Iona College, Wofford College, Marquette University, Denison University, Illinois Tech, American University and Elmhurst College will be providing small group instruction and positional stations including goalie instruction from Philadelphia Force pro goalie, Bridget Bianco. With a small coach to player ratio, players will receive personalized instruction and also have the opportunity to participate in a recruiting Q&A.

The clinic will also serve as an optional evaluation for new candidates on the Summit Elite national team that features elite college bound athletes from Illinois and Colorado.

The clinic will be held at Lil Kickers Indoor at 1911 W. Lake St., Chicago, Il., 60612. It will be held from 2:30-6 p.m. and is open to all girls’ players in the classes of 2018-2021. Clinic is open to any and all registrants and restricted only by age and number.

The cost is $75 and players can register here or at denversummitlax.com.

Summit Elite is a new national team focused on providing the highest competitive experience for college bound athletes through their senior year in high school. The inaugural team combined the talents of two highly competitive and successful girls’ lacrosse programs, Wildcat Elite 2017 and Denver Summit 2017.

Benefiting from the resources of the University of Denver women’s lacrosse team, Summit Elite incorporates Division 1 training concepts from current college coaches and players in order to help its players physically and mentally prepare for the rigors of NCAA collegiate lacrosse.

Zoë Smith, Owner and Director of Summit Lacrosse and Director of Statistical Analysis for the University of Denver Women’s lacrosse team, also was pleased to announce that owner and director of ALL IN Lacrosse Mark Bundra has been named Summit’s Illinois Director. ALL IN Lacrosse trains elite boys and girls lacrosse players in Illinois.

“Mark Bundra is one of the most talented coaches I’ve worked with.” Smith said.
“We share the same vision for Summit Lacrosse and I have no doubt he will help develop Summit into a national presence. Mark’s eye for identifying and developing talent, positive energy on the field, and focused training will help develop each player to be competitive at the collegiate level. I’m excited to continue coaching our Elite teams with Mark and expand our presence in Illinois.”

“Summit Elite is unique” said Bundra. “It was built on necessity, and demand and a need. It is the wild west. There are clubs popping up everywhere and they all think they are doing it better. But Zoë (and her team) do an amazing job, just from the recruiting standpoint. They know what they are doing. They have relationships (with college coaches). And they are honest and real about it.”

Summit Elite will be adding players in the 2018-2021 graduation years for the Summit Elite High School team (2018-2020) and Summit Elite 2021 national teams. Summit seeks to help develop committed and uncommitted college bound athletes with Division I level skills to compete at the elite regional, national and international tournaments.

“Mark and I are excited to not only coach Summit Elite at the IWLCA national recruiting tournaments, but we are thrilled to take our high school team to the FIL World Cup Youth Lacrosse Festival in England this summer,” said Smith.

The Summit program features instruction designed to provide superior training to elite athletes as well as unparalleled recruiting support to appropriately match players athletically and academically to be successful collegiate student athletes. There will be rolling openings for the summer and fall teams based on the clinic/evaluation. The current Summit Elite high school team has 23 NCAA commits, including 18 Division I commits. Questions can be directed to denversummitteam@gmail.com.

The Preseason Summit Lacrosse North America Girls’ Rankings for 2017 (last year’s records included

1. McDonogh School (MD) 22-0
The Eagles – who have been No. 1 since these rankings began 4 years ago – won their eighth straight IAAM title and enter the season with a hard-to-imagine 155 straight wins. Unfortunately for the rest of the IAAM, their talent is as impressive as ever.

2. St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (VA) 25-1 Venerable Saints coach Kathy Jenkins starts her 42nd year as the all-time winningest girls’ HS coach (719 wins) and the Virginia Independent Schools favorite.

3. Darien (CT) 21-1-1
The Blue Wave are a favorite to win a fifth consecutive Connecticut Large school state championship.

4. Mt. Sinai (NY) 18-3
The Mustangs are seeking their fourth Class C state crown in five years.

5. Notre Dame Prep (MD) 13-7
The Blazers, loaded with college commits, could be the top challenger to McDonogh’s throne in the IAAM.

6. Bishop Ireton (VA) 18-3
The Cardinals seek to defend their DC WAC title and contend for a Virginia Independent crown.

7. Garden City (NY) 21-1
Despite losing a strong senior class, the Trojans are the defending New York Class B state champions and a state favorite again.

8. Glenelg (MD) 17-3
The Gladiators breezed to the Public 3A/2A championship last year and return a strong nucleus.

9. Good Counsel (MD) 18-3
The Falcons are again a co-contender with Bishop Ireton for the DC WAC championship.

10. Roland Park (MD) 15-4
The Reds fell to McDonogh in the IAAM championship game and will look to contend again.

11. Bridgewater-Raritan (NJ) 21-1
The Panthers should contend with Ridgewood for the Group 4 and Tournament of Champions title.

12. Conestoga (PA) 24-1
The defending PIAA champions are the favorite in large-school Class AAA as Pennsylvania splits into two classifications for the first time (AA and AAA).

13. Christian Brothers Academy (NY) 21-0
The defending Class A champion Brothers look to contend for another state crown.

14. Ridgewood (N.J.) 20-3
The Maroons won the Group 4 state title and fell to Summit, 11-10, in overtime in the Tournament of Champions title game; they are a favorite to return.

15. Manhasset (NY) 13-4-1
The Indians fell to eventual NY Class B state champion Garden City, 9-8, in the Section 8 final and look to contend again for section, LI and state honors.

16. Marriotts Ridge (MD) 14-2
The Mustangs will again be a contender in the 3A/2A race.

17. Middle Country (NY) 16-2
The Wolverines – led by Heather Leigh Albert honoree Jamie Ortega – will be a Class A contender.

18. Agnes Irwin (PA) 19-6
The Owls won the Inter-Ac League title in 2016 despite a slew of injuries and will contend again for league and State Independent honors.

19. Moorestown (NJ) 18-6
The Quakers also had a lot of injury problems in 2016 and lost their starting goalie to a transfer, but have strong senior and junior classes.

20. Loyola Academy (IL) 23-5
The Ramblers – who have lost one in-state game in the past 8 years – have won eight straight Illinois state titles and last year played the likes of Bishop Ireton, Episcopal Academy and Radnor to tight losses. Armed with a very strong senior class of eight D1 commits, they play a very tough schedule (six state champions or runner-ups, including No. 2 St. Stephen’s), as always, and could make waves at the national level.
