Why did you choose University of Oregon, Women’s D1? “I had always dreamed of playing for the PAC 12. I have always worked hard on my academics, and had hoped for an opportunity to play one day for an amazing school with endless opportunities. That offer came in and I couldn’t believe it. The coaches were outstanding and their resumes spoke for themselves. After several weeks of conversing I knew it’s where I wanted to be. I flew out with my parents to visit the University of Oregon (though it was a ghost town due to COVID) I spent the entire weekend walking around the campus getting a feel for the school & trying to imagine how busy it would normally be. Upon my return, I took a few days to take it ‘ALL’ in… I spoke via zoom call with the coaches and several of the team players. This was the moment I knew…these were the girls I wanted to play with & grow with. These were the coaches that would grow me into the player I want to be. 100% I knew…I was going to be a ‘DUCK’!!!!”
Is there anything else you would like to share? “First to my parents for ‘ALL’ the support, love & dedication you always give me, my older brothers for making me tough. My mentors: Holly Reilly (Team USA) for putting a stick in my hand freshman year & inspiring me to play. Coach Nick Tintle (Athletes Choice) for believing I could, pushing me to always improve and making me want it so bad. Megan Armes (my JV Coach in High School) for her knowledge of the game & willingness to help coach taking us to another level…your dedication is admired & you will be missed. My club So Cal Express Elite, which has been a incredible support system for me from the beginning with great opportunities & coaches to grow me to the player I’ve become thus far -Thanks-Coach-Jon, Brian & CJ. My new club ACES, I’ve only played with you once but, I’m excited for this next year to grow dramatically Coach Cicco. Most importantly, to the OREGON LAX Women’s coaching staff for choosing me to represent you, being the type of coaches I feel totally comfortable with knowing you have the knowledge to grow me to the player I want to be & win a CHAMPIONSHIP for. The hard work has just begun….. GO DUCKS!!!”
What other colleges did you consider? “The University of Southern California (family school/Legacy) – I grew up there and still go to all the football games. Also, UC Berkeley, University of Florida, and Stanford.”
