Westlake (CA) 2015 midfielder Jesse Cuccia has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of North Carolina. Cuccia had formerly committed to Boston University.

Why did you choose the school? “I just liked the program and the coaches. Once I went there and visited and saw the facilities and knew I could be playing for a top D1 program that will be competing for a national championship each year, I knew it was for me. It’s got a really awesome college campus and the kids there are great.”
Outlook for 2015 HS season? “I think my team has the potential to get to states if we work hard enough. We have a lot of good returning players this season that can reach the D1 level by the time they graduate.”
Thank You: “The people I want to thank most are members of my family; I couldn’t have gotten the exposure without the funding or the support. The coaches who I would like to thank are: Mario Waibel, who picked me up my freshman year of high school and really developed my skills; and Ken Miller; he really got me where I needed to be to get recruited and really helped me out from barely getting any looks to getting looks for top D1 programs.”
