Here are a few ConnectLAX recruits looking to play at the next level. Asking hard questions about what you are looking for in a school and how you can contribute to a college program saves you and college coaches time in the recruiting process. Your performance on the field is only part of the recruiting equation; leading in the classroom and developing your pitch to coaches will help you stand out from the crowd.

Stefan Paul is a 2017 Attackman/Midfielder from New York who plays for Dwight-Englewood and Prime Time.

What are you looking for in a college lacrosse program?
“Number 1, I’m looking for good academics, somewhere that I can set my future out. I’d like to go to a school with an atmosphere where I can use the broken leg test, somewhere that I would go even on a rainy day. I want to play at a high level of lacrosse, but also somewhere that I can bond with my teammates and feel comfortable.”

How do you see yourself contributing to a college team?
“I can see myself contributing to a college team by working very hard on the field, riding and keeping the ball on the offensive side, looking over to feed while using my quickness and ability to move around the field.”

What is your greatest strength as a player?
“I’d say my greatest strength is beating my man, drawing the slide and making the right look.”

What are you looking for in a college lacrosse program?
“For a college lacrosse program the first thing I’m looking for is academics, I would have to ask myself if I was injured would I still go to that school. Secondly I’m looking for a great lacrosse program and great coaching.”

How do you see yourself contributing to a college team?
“I can help teams out with my quick skills in the goal. I’ve been working on my clears a lot so I can help teams with that.”

What is your greatest strength as a player?
“My greatest strength on the field would be saving balls, I trust my instincts in the net. I love saving the ball and getting the ball up the field.”
