The TopLaxRecruits.com Western Rankings:
1. Arapahoe (CO) 3-0
The Warriors have turned some heads, with a well-deserved top spot in our rankings. After a big 8-7 win over Regis Jesuit, previously No. 1, the Warriors will travel to La Costa Canyon (CA) today.
2. Santa Ana, Foothill (CA) 7-0
Nate Marano has led the high-powered offense, which has scored double digits in every game so far. They will travel to La Costa Canyon on Saturday.
3. Saint Ignatius Prep (CA) 6-0
Peter Alimam has been a key for the Wildcats. They will have big games in Saint Francis and De LaSalle coming up before they go East for some competition against DC powerhouses Gonzaga and Landon School.
4. Cherry Creek (CO) 3-0
The Bruins have dominated competition, including a 12-4 victory over Columbine. They will travel to the Garden State to battle powers Bergen Catholic (April 2) and Summit (April 4).
5. Regis Jesuit (CO) 2-1
Although dropping a 8-7 heartbreaker to Arapahoe, The Raiders responded well with a 10-9 statement win over Mountain Vista. They will travel to Mullen, before their showdown with Cathedral Catholic on March 31.
6. Mountain Vista (CO) 4-1
The Golden Eagles started off hot, scoring at least 15 goals in each of their first four games, before a tough 10-9 loss to Regis Jesuit, They travel to Mullen on April 1.
7. J Serra Catholic (CA) 5-0
The Lions dominated the first five games of their schedule, but will get their biggest test when they host Cathedral Catholic on Tuesday
8. Bellevue (WA) 2-0
John Baumann and the Wolverines wore down Bainbridge Island en route to a 9-6 win in Kitsap County. They will face strong competition in the coming weeks, with games against Lakeridge (OR) and Skyline.
9. Corner Canyon (UT) 7-0
The Chargers scored a big 9-5 win over Eastside Catholic (WA) at the Boise Lax Invitational.
10. San Ramon Valley (CA) 6-1
Although starting the season with a 13-11 defeat at the hands of Saint Ignatius Prep, They have really bounced back, including a big 10-8 win over Texas powerhouse Episcopal Dallas. They will host St Margarets Episcopal on April 10.
Under consideration: Brighton (UT) 5-0; Corona Del Mar (CA) 4-0; De LaSalle (CA) 3-0; Desert Vista (AZ) 3-0; Eastside Catholic (WA) 2-1; Issaquah (WA) 2-0; Kent Denver (CO) 4-0; Mercer Island (WA) 3-0; Poway (CA) 4-1; Scripps Ranch (CA) 3-1; Torrey Pines (CA) 4-1; West Linn (OR) 0-0.
Girls
1. San Ramon Valley (CA) 9-0
The Wolves have started very strong to take over the top spot, including wins over California HS (10-8) and Novato (10-6). They will go head to head with another unbeaten in Oak Park on April 7.
2. Air Academy (CO) 3-0
The Kadets earned a 15-14 decision over Chaparral.
3. Cherry Creek (CO) 4-0
The Bruins, with new head coach Kathryn Ames has the started her tenure on the right foot, with a four-game streak, including a big 10-9 win over Centaurus.
4. Lake Oswego (OR) 1-0
The Lakers started with a blanketing 16-0 win over Southridge. They will have a tough stretch coming up, including a back-to-back with Menlo School on April 3 and Amador Valley on April 4.
5. West Linn (OR) 1-0
Natalie Byrne led the way in an 18-8 win over Wilsonville.
6. Novato (CA) 8-1
Coach Rory Daly has led the Hornets on an impressive streak of wins, including wins over Carondelet (10-8) and Oak Ridge (12-9). They will look to face Menlo School, which defeated Amador Valley, on April 4.
7. La Costa Canyon (CA) 4-2
Coach Casey Rector and the Lady Mavericks started the season off hot, despite back to back losses to Eastern powers Episcopal Academy (PA) and St. Stephen’s & Agnes (DC). They will battle with Coranado on Tuesday.
8. Saint Ignatius Prep (CA) 2-0
The Lady Wildcats started the season with two big wins, including a 14-9 win over California HS. They will have a hard stretch, including a Thursday battle with St. Stephens & Agnes (VA).
9. Monte Vista-Danville (CA) 6-0
The Mustangs have continued to dominate competition, en route to a 6-0 record. They will have a huge matchup with Saint Ignatius Prep on Tuesday.
10. Colorado Academy (CO) 4-0
The Lady Mustangs have cracked the top 10, with wins over Columbine (10-6) and Rampart (14-10). They will travel to play Saint Ignatius Prep on Tuesday.
